Your Thoughts Create Your Reality
I've recently been reminded again of the universal rules & laws which govern the nature of life. Each of us needs to grasp the power of understanding that it is our very thoughts which are the source that effect and activate the response which takes place in us at the cellular level. To say it more practically, we care about how good our mood is, how happy and fulfilled we feel each hour of the day. Are you a person tired of not feeling good day after day? I've had too many of those days myself. Meanwhile, how our thoughts and the physical universe actually connect remains one of the ultimate mysteries right along side with why and how we're here in the first place.
The hardliners on the science side insist we are purely biological and physical via Darwin's observations while hardliners on the spiritual side insist that there is some form of God the Creator within their religious beliefs who formed the universe and all of it's rules and laws. Regardless of what you believe in that regard, the way you believe and think is exactly the point. The latest research into biology and quantum physics continues to reveal more and more clearly that the combination of your thoughts and emotions which you put out impacts the environment in which creation of your daily reality takes place. Rather than being too heavy, its actually quite simple.
In my communications courses for PR/media, presentation, sales, and leadership I explain the effect of the following phrase on how you think and respond:
"Its easy to see that..."
(The word "see" can be replaced with realize, understand, or accept) For example, compare the following two statements:
1. A commitment to "green" environmental policies is important to our company.
This is a statement of fact, written without any manner of influence or persuasion. Now read the next sentence:
2. It is easy to see that our company is indeed committed to "green" environmental policies.
It's easy? Oh, that's nice. Easy to see? Yes. Easy to realize? Yes. Really? Yes! Great! I accept that. Why? Because you told me it is. Thanks for helping me to realize that this point about your company, which I also care about, is easy for me to realize. Yes, I see it more clearly and realize it more clearly than if you just factually stated it to me. I am happily, passively influenced.
Do you see it? And why do you realize it? Only because I said so. Its easy because we said its easy. Its easy to realize because that's what you were told it is: easy to realize. So your brain responds to and follows that leading influence in the statement.
A negative example makes it even easier to understand.
3. The next three hours are going to be hard, and boring too. I'm sorry but we have to be here and get through this material.
Do you believe me? Yes you do. How do you feel? If you were primed this way, you would in fact feel it! You would feel that the next three hours are going to be harder and more boring than you would hope or expect. And you would not be looking forward to it and the atmosphere in the room would be quite unenjoyable.
Why? Because I said so. What other reason? NO other reason. Only because I told you so; that is the frame within which you were told the message and your brain will accept it.
One more example:
4. Let me start by quickly saying that the next two hours is going to fly by because we have so much to cover and next thing we know we'll hit 5pm and be out of here heading home for a nice dinner, so let's get started.
Again I ask, how would you feel if I said these words, and said them in a fast, upbeat tone of voice? You would feel as though the time will go quicker for the next two hours. Why is it true? Because I told you it is. No other reason.
So your entire physical, mental and emotional mindset is transformed by simple words or thoughts or ideas. I wish this helps you to realize the massive power that exists in simple behavioral communication changes.
Internally, the words are "thoughts". A million more pages can be written on this and indeed, already have been. Let that fact ignite your desire to realize how you can transform your life by transforming your thoughts. I'm not afraid to end this article with the fabulous statement "You are what you think". You can master your present and your future because you can learn to control and direct and focus the combination of your thoughts and emotions in more powerful, meaningful and happier ways. And the actual cells in your body at the molecular level along with the environment around you will gradually transform to match the same energy which your thoughts and feelings are focusing on.
You accept something is "easy to see" simply because being told make it so. (Of course this would not apply to something which your values disagree with or if you have a factual argument against the statement) Whatever you are telling yourself works in exactly the same way.
I can't. You can't? Ok, you're right you can't.
I can. You can? Ok, you're right you can.
I can't. Well wait, I can but it will be really hard. Ok. Good. You've removed the limit. Now you can deal with how practical the reality you face may or may not be.
I am getting smarter and smarter, richer and richer, wiser and wiser and the ailments in my body are healing. I am? They are? Yes. Ok, then its true. Why? Because thinking it so makes it so. My mind and body and environment will respond accordingly and support what I believe.
Thinking it so makes it so. Enough! Enjoy. Cheers.
